Save the date as 2011 World Series by Renault calendar is announced

Renault Owners Club fans are among the very first people to learn the date of next year's World Series by Renault as organisers announce the 2011 calendar.

The weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August 2011 will see the free motorsport extravaganza return once more to Northamptonshire's Silverstone Grand Prix circuit with Renault Owners Club members among the first to be told the news.

Community members were among the 125,000 people who attended the two-day event this year adding to the 4,000,000 spectators who watched World Series by Renault events across Europe in 2010. The UK event will provide the setting for the fifth meeting of seven with the remaining countries being Spain (twice), Belgium, Germany, Hungary and France.

Next year will be the fourth consecutive year World Series by Renault has used the 3.67-mile Silverstone circuit which is also the venue for the 2011 British Grand Prix in early July.

Full details and ticket registrations won't be available until later next year (Watch this space and look out for the forthcoming editions of the Renaultsport e-newsletter!) but fans can expect more of the same thrilling racing with the headline Formula Renault 3.5 Series, a proven feeder-category to Formula 1, Eurocup Megane Trophy and Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. There will also be plenty of off-track entertainment and of course the Classic & Renault Owners Club Collectors' Area for hot hatch fans to display their own cars.

The Renault F1 Team Grand Prix race car is also expected to be entertaining crowds with more tyre-smoking displays and hot laps.
